This one’s for the tacticians.
0.57.0 introduces new formations and the first iteration of player roles, with unique mentalities that shape how your team behaves on the pitch.
There’s also been a lot of work under the hood, so check out the full Patch Notes below:
Gameplay:
New Implementation:
- Introduced contextual ground pass logic to better replicate user intent when playing a ground pass.
- Through passes and lofted through passes can now be played into space when in appropriate situations, rather than always straight in front of the receiver.
- Added player roles, giving users the ability to give position-based player intructions affecting AI behavior and decision making.
- Added three new formations: 3-4-3, 3-4-1-2, and 4-5-1.
Adjustments & Improvements:
- Made improvements to gameplay cameras
- Re-introduced reaction times on air balls only to improve the usability of lofted passes and lofted through passes
- Increased acceleration on jogging and sprinting, both on and off ball
- Lowered the penalty applied on max sprint speed when sprint dribbling
- Reduced speed penalties on turns when sprinting
- Improved Jockey movement - min/max speed, acceleration, turn penalties
- Tweaked sprint touch cooldowns
- Tweaked heavy touch cooldowns and acceleration boost
- Tweaked shooting for better consistency in the box and better viability on long shots
- Increased ground pass speeds
- The agility stat now has an effect on a player’s ability to maintain speed for any turn, with a linearly increasing penalty from 1 degree to 180 degrees.
- Tweaked second player press to make pressing more efficient
- Improved ball trajectories on lofted passes and crosses
- Balanced skill moves speeds and execution times
- Improved “open goal” logic where players are no longer forced to shoot down the center of the goal.
- Improved blocking logic
- Improved shoulder barges and stumbles
- Improved lock-on for air balls
Fixes:
- Fix for keeper not diving during a penalty
- Fix for incorrect camera offset on free kicks
- Fixed cases of missed traps caused by manual shielding
- Ensured that the penalty taker cannot be the next player to interact with the ball after a penalty shot
- Fixed cases of double headers during a high trap
Animations:
- New block animations
- Improvements to shooting and passing animations
- Improvements to tackle reaction animations
AI:
- Defensive AI improvements: better position selection, holding formation while also marking
- Offensive AI improvements: better position selection, better integration between Holders and Helpers
- Foundation for player roles
- Enabled an initial set of special roles/mentalities
- Enabled 3 new formations
UI/UX/Audio & Quality of Life
New Implementation:
- Added ability to pause bot matches at any point with requests
- The progress you made on Challenges is now displayed at the end of a match
- Challenges have received a visual overhaul in the menu
- Player reveal has been polished to make the flow tighter
- The progress bar indicating SR changes at the end of match now animates the difference for better visual feedback
- Added support for multi property sorting. Players in the Collection now sort by OVR and then by last name.
- Added more audio feedback to the UI, in the Store and when navigating screens.
Fixes:
- Fix for inconsistent controller navigation when going in and out of subs
- Fixed an issue where the ping and FPS warning would not display correctly
- Fixed a navigational issue on the main menu carousel when using gamepad
- Fixed several navigation bugs when making substitutions in-game
- Fixed issue where user was unable to scroll up when only 2 layers of packs were available in swaps / store
Core
New Implementation:
- Unreal 5.6.1 on Windows, Xbox and PS5
- XeSS 2.1.1 on Windows
- Additional reductions to memory high-watermark and resource retention from generated resources (character generation meshes and materials)
- SuperLowEnd/LowEnd significant memory reduction for in-game character meshes.
- SENTEC client side threading
- Improved CPU performance on performance version, for CPUs with more than 2 cores

- Added camera flashes in the crowd
