Gameplay:
New Implementation:
- Added diving headers and sliding shots, triggered contextually in appropriate situations
Adjustments & Improvements:
- Improved close dribbling and sprint dribbling - dynamic cooldowns and ability to take touches with both feet
- Improvements to pass receiver selection for ground passes and lofted passes.
- Increased fluidity to skill moves across the board, focusing on removing unexpected speed losses when performing skill moves
- Movement tweaks to increase the importance of momentum for sharp turns
- Improved the effectiveness of low-rated goalkeepers
- Limited the amount of speed a player can pass with for angles above 90 degrees.
- Adjustments to close dribbling and sprint dribbling touch trajectories
- Adjustments to close- and sprint trap trajectories
- Lowered cooldown multipliers on traps
- Narrowed red card slide tackle angle from behind to ensure unfair red cards are not dealt.
- Lowered execution time for lofted passes played at an angle greater than 90 degrees
- Decreased speed of flick passes
- Re-introduced dispersion to driven passes
- Increased turn angle assistance for manual tackles
- Stamina value tweaks to make substitutions more relevant
- Updated header trajectories
- Improvements to heavy touch activation
- Improved stand tackle foot selection
- Improved pre-trap movement, allowing players to build speed before trapping the ball
- Improved slide tackle consistency
Fixes:
- Fixed deceleration inconsistencies when holding the sprint button
- Fixed an issue where tackling assistance would factor input direction rather than the player’s facing direction for stand tackles while jockeying
AI:
- Agents now face more consistently towards the ball
- Defensive AI: better overall positioning and marking, more ball awareness when positioning
- Defensive AI: ball container is now more reactive in their positioning
- Defensive AI: introduce the danger container objective, in which defensive agents try to contain dangerous situations (e.g. shots and passing opportunities) better when no one else is around
- Defensive AI: fix pre-mature extreme repositioning on missed passes when not necessary
- Offensive AI: introduce the “desired pass” assignment system in which holders position themselves based on the pass type they want to receive (ground, lofted, through) to create more and better passing options for the user
UI/UX/Audio & Quality of Life
New Implementation:
Progression:
- Added UI for player upgrades on front of player cards
- Added ability to flip player cards in Squad & Collection to view player progress
- Added ability to view progress and upgrade players in Player Details and Contextual Menu screens
- Added new step in End of Match presenting XP earned
- Added ability to earn XP from Challenges as a reward
- Added ability to earn XP from Ranked as a weekly reward (this is functional but not visible in UI in this release)
- Added ability to filter the Collection based on retired and progression status
- Added a new screen accessible in Squad, showcasing how progression works
Other:
- Player Details now displays your players in 3D
- Ranked weekly rewards now show when available in the Main Menu and Mode Select screen
- Challenges has received a visual polish pass
- User tag and currency (top right side of main menu) has received a visual polish pass
- Platform icons added next to usernames throughout the experience to show during cross-play
- Added entry point for 5v5 friendlies in the Mode Selection in preparation for 5v5 playtests
- Added a setting to toggle cross-play on/off
- Added the ability to have some settings change without applying immediately
Core
New Implementation:
- New Navigation System (Minimum time to ball for navigation)
- 16:9 clamp of UI rendering
- Improved Player Kits 2.0, now with decal support
