Update highlights

It’s no secret that 0.11.0 came with some noticeable gameplay due to the number of factors, which we were aware of. Keeping in mind the new elements introduced & being worked on turning the game into a transition state, let’s have a look at 0.12.0! In this patch, we’re continuing to work on lock-on & through ball and fixes to improve the gameplay experience.

    “In the previous version, a player locked on to a pass or a loose ball would sprint for it, sometimes causing them to stop and wait until the ball reached them. Players automatically locked on a ball will now move more naturally and will not sprint but jog depending on the distance.”
  • Updated acceleration to be higher at lower speeds and then reduce as speed increases.
  • Stamina is now frozen during goal celebrations and for the first kick-off.

    “Through pass angles are now clamped so players don’t pass the ball off the pitch. Another update went to the pass receiver logic; we are now looking at potential receivers’ predicted location (at time t + pass duration) to include receivers that are not yet in the assistance zone.
    Last but not least, we’ve introduced a distance-to-goal line multiplier, meaning the closer the player gets to the goal line, the shorter through ball distance in front of the receiver will be played. Multiplier currently starts having an effect 30 meters away from the goal line.”
  • Added a lateral steering offset so that when the player dribbles, their dominant/kicking foot is aligned with the ball.
  • To improve the reaction time the lock-on is now calculated only on the client.
  • Lowered the max jogging speed.
  • Increased the minimum sprinting speed.
  • Lowered maximum close dribbling cooldown.
  • Reduced the stamina recovery rate.
  • Reduced min. through pass distance ahead.

Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where the game would occasionally crash when rejoining an ongoing match.
  • Fixed a problem where the name tag and player indicators heads would shake.
  • Fixed a stand tackle action issue where the player wasn't steering towards the ball even if the ball was inside the assistance zone.
    “In the previous version, all tackles were manual, and the steering assistance had no effect. - Now, if you time a tackle well –and have a player with a high enough tackling stat, you'll notice assistance towards the ball as you press tackle.”
  • Fixed an issue where the local player avatar would be missing, and the stats would display incorrect values when entering or rejoining a match.
