NEW TO GOALS?

This guide will help you get the most out of the game, from claiming daily rewards to building your squad, mastering Swaps, and maximizing your coin earnings. Let’s dive in.

Daily Pack:

Every 24 hours, you can claim a free Basic+ Pack, no strings attached. It’s a consistent and straightforward way to add new players to your club, so be sure to claim it daily!

Companion app and Swaps:


The GOALS Companion App lets you manage your team and open packs on the go. Available on both:

You can also access Swaps directly from the app. Swaps are a great way to put unused players to work:

- Submit a number of players that fulfil the Swaps criteria
- Earn player packs in return for completing Swaps

To get the most out of Swaps, we recommend keeping all the players you pack and saving them for submissions. It’s one of the fastest ways to grow your team and increase your odds of finding top-tier cards.

Earning points:

You can earn points in GOALS through a few key actions:

  • Play matches: Each match you finish gives you points.
  • Sell players: selling players is the quickest way to get hold of points.
  • Challenges: Completing certain objectives also unlocks rewards.
  • Performance: The Ranked, Tournaments and Knockout game modes can give you big reward bonuses depending on how much you play and how well you perform

Note: You won’t earn points by playing in the Arena, but this game mode still offer value through challenge progress.

Customising & Remapping Controls

Want to adjust your controls? Here’s how to do it via Steam Input:

  • Right-click GOALS Playtest in your Steam Library
  • Select Properties → Controller
  • Under Override, choose Enable Steam Input
  • Click Controller Configurator
  • Select Edit Layout to start remapping

This lets you personalise your gameplay experience to suit your style.

Rarity Tiers

GOALS features seven rarity levels based on the overall rating of a player card:

  • Basic: 40–59 (Grey)
  • Common: 60–69 (Silver)
  • Uncommon: 70–79 (Green)
  • Rare: 80–84 (Blue)
  • Epic: 85–89 (Purple)
  • Legendary: 90–94 (Orange)
  • Mythic: 95–99 (Gold)

You can see a player’s rating in the top-left corner of their card.

Packs: What to Open First

Starting out? We recommend focusing on Basic+ Packs. These give you a good opportunity to quickly start improving your team at a great price point

Pair them with Swaps to quickly strengthen your squad. Once your team is solid with Uncommons and Rares, you can start exploring premium packs with better odds for Epic, Legendary, and Mythic cards.

Ranked Rewards

Ranked is a competitive game mode in GOALS, where your ambition is to climb the ranks by improving your skill rating. By playing Ranked games, you earn Reward Points (RP). Gather enough RP to instantly get bonus rewards. The higher your rank is, the better rewards you get.

Tournaments

Nothing in football compares to the thrill of tournament play. Every match matters — win and advance, lose and you're out.

In GOALS, you can enter tournaments whenever it suits you. Each tournament features four rounds: Round of 16, Quarterfinal, Semifinal, and Final. Win to progress. Lose and your run ends.

Eliminated? Jump straight back in and try again as many times as you like.

Make it all the way to the Final and lift the trophy to earn incredible rewards. New tournaments are released regularly, each with unique entry requirements and exciting rewards to compete for.

Knockout

Ready to compete? Knockout is where the best rise.

Running every weekend (Fri 09:00 – Mon 09:00 CET), Knockout is your chance to test your skills against the toughest players in the game — and earn some of the best rewards available, even if you’re not among the elite.

Knockout is a round-based game mode. Win matches to climb through divisions. Each division gives you a limited number of attempts — reach the required number of wins within those matches to earn promotion to the next division.

Fail to qualify, and your run ends for the week.

Every division offers increasingly valuable rewards, with additional reward tiers based on your performance. The higher you climb, the greater the prizes.

Clear all standard divisions without getting knocked out, and you reach the big stage: The Knockout Division.

This is where we separate the best from the best. You can play until you reach two losses — and your goal is simple: earn as many wins as possible before that happens. Your total wins in this division determine your leaderboard score.

Earn enough wins to secure a spot on the Top 500 leaderboard, and truly elite rewards await.

Aging & Progression.

In GOALS, every single player is unique. They belong to you, and to you only. There is no reset of your team. No new game every year.

Instead, players go through natural aging cycles when you actively play the game, where they also earn XP that is required to unlock upgrades during their career. Eventually, once old enough, players retire. However, even though a player retires it doesn’t mean you’ll never see them again. Retired players remain in your club and you can even convert them to legends, to use forever if you make them fit in your team.

Discord & Vanity Roles


Linking your Discord account to GOALS unlocks exclusive vanity roles that reflect your progress.

  • Head to the Accounts Page to connect your Discord.
  • As you keep playing, you’ll rise through seven unique roles, from Basic to Mythic.

These roles won’t just look good, we are planning to tie them to rewards in the future, wich will be added throughout our development journey.
