Gameplay:

New Implementation:

  • Implemented a Composure system which depends on the "health points" of characters, which means players involved in physical interactions will execute shots/passes/touches less controlled.
  • Removed "R1 Dribbling" and replaced with a contextual Sprint Dribbling system.
  • Implemented better lunge Interceptions to take the ball despite not being locked on, whose range depends on the Interceptions attribute.

Adjustments & Improvements:

  • Reduced max pull distance for physical tackle.
  • Increase capsule radii and capsule push radii to provide greater separation between players in close contact situation.
  • Improved duel outcomes by tweaking action boosts for Clearances/Passes/Shots.
  • Removed movement stun upon duel loser.
  • Improvements to goalie positioning.
  • Reduce time to react for players facing the wrong way to improve defensive behaviour from crosses
  • Re-enabled high crosses and high lofted passes.
  • Improvements to lock on decision making, so defenders are less likely to enter duels they won't win, and to stop defenders locking onto touches incorrectly.
  • Improvements to crossing trajectories.
  • Improvements to jumping trajectories.
  • Improvements to interaction planning to allow faster execution of actions like Shots/Passes while dribbling.
  • Increased dispersion on lofted headers.
  • Allow the shot execution to begin while still charging, to allow shots to execute faster overall.
  • Dragback input now uses R1 only instead of both R1 & L1.
  • Reduced min crossing distance so crosses are now activated when expected.

Design Adjustments:

  • Introduced contextual sprint dribbling, reducing touch cooldown when appropriate based on the player's sprint dribbling stat.
  • Increased low-speed acceleration off the ball.
  • Decreased low-speed acceleration on the ball.
  • Increased min. sprint dribbling speed multiplier from 0.85 to 0.9.
  • Adjusted distance from midfield line to defensive line to ensure midfielders at low depths don't end up crowding the box too much.
  • Reworked composure system - now tied to collisions/duels (HP system) rather than distance to closest opponent.
  • Increased initial speed to slide speed for slide tackles.
  • Increased execution times for passes played at high angles.
  • Increased speed penalty on ground passes for high angle passes.
  • Increased accepted angle for outside foot shots to trigger, both for power shots and finesse shots. The angle is different for each player depending on shot type and their curve stat.
  • Lowered cooldown of the heavy touch.
  • Improved the heavy touch trajectory to look more similar to sprint dribbling touches.
  • Lowered cooldown of 180 sprint touch.
  • Increased dispersion on lofted pass headers
  • Adjusted shot execution logic to allow execution to start while still charging the shot.

Animation:

UI/UX/Audio & Quality of Life:

HUD UI:

  • Improved UI navigation in Squad & Collection screen
  • Swapping players between Squad & Collection now filters by the selected formation position by default
  • Added the ability to reset filters
  • Visual Overhaul for the Squad Screen.
  • Updated Player Indicators - Shows opponent’s name when in possession of the ball.
  • Updated the Pause Menu by adding an "Edit Squad" button, instead of the squad widgets being clickable.
  • Updated the Player card visuals.
  • Updated the background image.
  • Updates to Typography.
  • Minor visual tweaks to the player state widget.

Audio:

  • New SFX and background music added to the Waiting screen.
  • Updated UI SFX in the Lobby screen.
  • Updated UI SFX in End of Match screen.

Core:

  • Re-added XeSS.
  • Upgrade to Unreal 5.5.3.
