Player Attributes

Pace

Acceleration

  • The acceleration stat determines how fast a player can increase their speed. The acceleration rate gradually decreases as the player is approaching top speed.

Speed

  • The sprint speed stat determines the maximum speed a player can reach when sprinting.

Shooting

Attacking IQ

  • The attacking IQ stat determines how well AI-controlled players positions themselves during attacking scenarios as well as how much speed they use when moving in attacking spaces

Finishing

  • The finishing stat determines a player’s accuracy when shooting from a short range. Shooting accuracy is also affected by % of power charged on the power bar, where a higher charge gives lower accuracy.
  • Medium-range accuracy is affected by both the finishing and long shot stats, where the closer the distance, the higher the weight of the finishing stat.

Shot Power

  • The shot power stat determines the amount of power a player can shoot with. Shooting accuracy is not negatively affected by a higher shot power stat, it is only affected by how much the shot power bar is charged.

Long Shots

  • The long shot stat determines a player’s accuracy when shooting from a long range. Shooting accuracy is also affected by % of power charged on the power bar.
  • Medium-range accuracy is affected by both the finishing and long shot stats, where the further the distance, the higher the weight of the long shot stat.

Penalty Accuracy

  • The penalty accuracy stat affects the pulse rate of the timing mechanic. A higher penalty accuracy stat results in a slower pulse rate which makes it easier to time.

Weak Foot

  • The weak foot stat determines how well a player can perform shots and passes with their weak foot. The weak foot stat acts as a multiplier on top of a player’s regular shooting/passing stats when performing an action with the weak foot.

Passing

Ground Pass

  • The ground pass stat determines the speed at which a player can perform ground passes relative to the distance to the receiver. The higher the stat is, the more speed the pass is played with.

Lofted Pass

  • The lofted pass stat determines the accuracy of a lofted pass. The lofted pass stat also affects the vertical angle a pass is played at, where players with a high stat can hit lower and hence quicker lofted passes.

Through Pass

  • The through pass stat determines how far ahead a player can play a through pass depending on the positioning of the opponents.

Crossing

  • The crossing stat determines a player’s accuracy and speed when crossing the ball.

Curve

  • The curve stat determines how much curve a player can get on finesse shots, low finesse shots, and crosses. The higher the player’s stat is, the more they can curve the ball when shooting and crossing.

Free Kick Accuracy

  • The free kick accuracy stat will determine the accuracy of a shot when performing a free kick.

Dribbling

Sprint Dribbling

  • The sprint dribbling stat determines the speed penalty when sprinting with the ball. It also affects the ability to perform touches in the contextual sprint dribbling state when an opponent is close, where players with a high sprint dribbling stat can perform shorter touches.

Close Dribbling

  • The close dribbling stat determines the speed penalty when jogging with the ball, and the cooldown between touches. High stats have a lower speed penalty and a reduced cooldown between touches.

First Touch

  • The first touch stat determines the probability of different touch cooldowns after taking a first touch. Players with a high first touch stat are more likely to get a lower cooldown (and hence touch force) after taking a first touch. The first-touch cooldown is also influenced by the speed, height, and angle of the incoming ball.

Agility

  • The agility stat determines the deceleration rate of a player when making harsh directional changes. The higher the agility stat is, the quicker a player will decelerate.

Balance

  • The balance stat acts as a multiplier on top of weight to determine how much force a player can withstand when they are in possession of the ball. Players with a high balance stat will have a high balance multiplier and hence be able to withstand more force relative to their weight without getting pushed off the ball.

Skills

  • The skills stat determines at which speed and accuracy a player can perform skill moves. The higher the player’s stat is, the faster and more precise the execution is.

Defending

Defensive IQ

  • Determines how well a player position themselves defensively, how quickly they track a run and how well they mark players.

Stand Tackle

  • The standing tackle stat determines the width of the tackling assistance zone. The higher the stat is, the wider the assistance zone is.

Slide Tackle

  • The sliding tackle stat determines the width of the assistance zone, the reach of a sliding tackle and the speed at which a slide tackle is performed.

Jockeying

  • The jockeying stat determines the maximum speed of a player when in a jockey state. The higher the stat is, the higher the maximum speed.

Interceptions

  • The interceptions stat currently determines the lunge range at which a player can stretch to intercept passes. Soon we will also tie the interception stat to a reaction time which will affect how quickly players react to be able to intercept passes.

Blocking

  • The blocking stat determines a player’s blocking radius when attempting to block a shot. The higher the stat is, the bigger the radius is. This stat only comes into effect if the player is user-controlled. AI-controlled players will have a smaller blocking radius.

Physicality

Jumping

  • The jumping stat determines how high a player can jump. The higher the stat is, the higher the player can jump.
  • The total jumping reach of a player is determined by height + jumping stat.

Strength

  • The strength stat, together with weight, affects how much force a player can apply to another player.

Stamina

  • The stamina stat determines how fast a player’s stamina gets depleted. The higher the stat is, the slower the stamina depletion rate. In the future, stamina depletion will also be affected by team tactics and the player role assigned to the player.

Aggression

  • The aggression stat determines how close to an opponent an AI-controlled player can get when performing the second player press action. The higher the stat is, the closer the pressing player can get. Currently this stat is inactive.

Heading

  • The heading stat determines a player’s accuracy and power when heading the ball. The higher the stat is, the more powerful and accurate a header will be. The power of a header is also affected by the incoming speed and angle of the ball.

Height & Weight

Height

  • Affects the total jumping reach together with the jumping stat.
  • For Agility, there is a height multiplier ranging from 0,9-1 acting on top of the stat. This means that a player of maximum height will have their agility stat multiplied by 0,9, and a player of minimum height will have their agility stat multiplied by 1. This means that the average agility of tall players will be slightly lower than for short players. The reasoning behind this multiplier is to balance the advantages between short and tall players since tall players inevitably will have an advantage for headers due to a better total jumping reach on average.

Weight

  • When determining the weight of a player upon generation, the height and the strength stat are the determining factors. The taller the player is, and the stronger the player is, the heavier they will be. Weight is being used to determine how much force a player can exert and withstand during collisions and duels.**

Goalkeepers

Diving

  • How much reach a GK can get when diving, both horizontally and vertically. A taller GK will have some extra range on top

Handling

Catching

  • How well a GK can catch and hold onto an incoming shot. The higher the stat the more likely the GK is to catching the ball rather than parrying it

Parrying

  • The higher the parrying stat is the more likely the goalkeeper is to deflect the ball away from the danger zones when making a save.

Distribution

Kicking Power

  • How much power a GK can generate behind their kicks

Ground Pass, Lofted Pass, Through Balls & Weak Foot

  • Same as for outfield players

Throwing

  • How accurately and far a GK can throw the ball

Reflexes

  • How quick a GK can react to an incoming shot.

Awareness

Positioning

  • How well a GK is able to position themselves. The lower the stat the more likely the GK will be to deviate from the ideal position

Command of Area

  • How well a GK is at coming out and dealing with incoming crosses. This stat is not active yet.

Rushing

  • The rushing stat affects how well the keeper can determine when they should come off the line to collect a loose ball. The stat hasn’t been activated yet.

Penalty Saving

  • Affects the size of the saving zone and the ability to catch a ball when saving a penalty.

Athleticism

Acceleration, Speed, Strength

  • Same as for outfield players

Jumping

  • How high a GK can jump from the ground to catch incoming crosses or lofted passes.
