The 5v5 event arrives in GOALS on October 29, and it changes the way you build your team.
For the event, everyone picks from the same new roster. Nobody brings a better card than anyone else, so what decides matches is how you play. And every player in the roster is built for their position. Find the role that’s made for you: pick a defender and the back line is yours, pick an attacker and the goals are on you.
Here's a first look at the three roles.
Defender: the wall
Some players live for goals. Others live for ruining yours.
The defender is your team's last line before the keeper. They read the danger before it happens, win the ball back and shut down attacks before they start. If you'd rather stop a goal than score one, the back line is your thing.
Midfielder: the brain
Every good move goes through the middle.
The midfielder connects everything: defence to attack, one side of the pitch to the other. They set the tempo, find the space and play the pass that opens the game up. If you're the one who sees the pass before anyone else, this is your spot.
Attacker: the finisher
Always in the right place. Always at the right time.
The attacker has one job: put the ball in the net. They make the runs, find the gaps and turn half a chance into a goal. If you're always the first one up front, this one's for you.
